GCC softball splits a pair of WSC South games against L.A. Valley and Bakersfield March 26-28
The GCC Softball team had a pair of opposite outcomes in conference games against L.A. Valley and Bakersfield Colleges last week, beating Valley 11-1 Tuesday March 26 at home in a 5-inning game and fell on the road to Bakersfield College 11-4 Thursday March 28. Glendale is now 2-3 in WSC play and 13-11 overall.
 
In the win over Valley, Torii Forsberg got the pitching win to improve to 10-8 and had two RBI and a single at the plate. Arlene Islas had a pair of hits including a triple and one scored and Mya Chacon also had two RBI and Lilly Brito and Emma Mendoza hit doubles and Savannah Alvarez had a two-run homer. In the loss to Bakersfield, GCC had 10 hits, all singles, with Angelica Salada getting three hits and Chacon notching two singles. 
 
GCC continues WSC play this week with home games against Citrus at 2:30 pm Tuesday April 2 with the continuation of a game that was suspended because of rain starting at 1 pm with Glendale leading 4-2. GCC also hosts Antelope Valley Thursday April 4 at 2:30 pm with all home games played at the Glendale Sports Complex.
