Toronto, Canada - This last week the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced the organizations first ever All-Decade awards (2010-2019). Former Renegade Brandon Banks took home two awards during the prestigous ceremony. He was named to the First-Team All-Decade as a special teams returner and to the Second-Team All-Decade as a receiver.

Banks has played in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats since 2013. As a special team returner over the course of his CFL career he has 283 punt returns for 2,954 yards and 7 touchdowns, 179 kick-off returns for 3,689 yards and 1 touchdown and 16 missed field goal returns for 769 yards and 5 touchdowns. As a receiver he has amassed 378 receptions for 5,204 yards and 42 touchdowns.

In 2019 Banks was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player at the league annual Shaw Awards.

Banks, originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, played at Bakersfield College from 2006-2007. In 2007 he helped lead Bakersfield to a No. 1 national ranking, a 12-1 record on the season and a berth in the Southern California championship game. Banks still holds the BC football receiving record from the 2007 season in which he had 93 receptions for 1396 yards and 15 touchdowns. Those number dwarfs the second leading BC receiver on that list in Derrick Vickers who in 2016 had 78 receptions for 894 yards and 7 touchdowns.

After his BC career, Banks transferred to Kansas State for a stellar career as a Wildcat before being signed by the Washington Redskins after the 2010 NFL Draft. He was a member of the Redskins for three season before becoming a free agent and signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2013.
