Paula Dahl

Paula enters her 26th year leading the Renegade women’s basketball program.

Prior to arriving at BC, Paula had served as the Freshman Volleyball Coach at Grossmont High School and the JV Head Coach/Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach as well as the Assistant Track Coach at Francis Parker High School.

As a student-athlete herself she was the leading scorer her senior year of high school and captain of the All-Area team in Tucson, AZ. She attended Northern Arizona University on a full basketball scholarship and then went on to attend Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship where she earned a BS in Physical Education. She then attended San Diego State University earning an MA in Physical Education/Sport Psychology.

As coach at BC, her teams have won two Western State Conference (WSC) championships and she has been named WSC Coach of the Year three times. She has coached one player named All-American Honorable Mention (Nakia Page, 2015) and had two conference MVP’s (Jausecca Cockeral, 2012 and Nakia Page, 2015). She has many players who have gone on to successful careers as attorneys, physicians assistants, engineers, nurses, teachers, coaches, professors, radiation technologists, school counselors and college counselors.

Paula resides in Bakersfield and believes she has the greatest position a person can have as head coach at BC and loves coaching young adults and then watching them thrive after leaving BC. She believes Bakersfield College is an outstanding academic institution that allows her to empower not just her student-athletes, but the students in her academic courses and has provided her with an opportunity to grow professionally and to discover new ways to enrich her students’ lives both mentally and physically.
