Tim Painton

Tim Painton enters 2021 as his 26th season as the head baseball coach at Bakersfield College.

During the 2017 season he earned his 550th career win. In the previous 24 seasons, Renegade baseball has had 199 student-athletes receive scholarships to continue their educations and playing careers at the 4-year level. In the same time period, the Renegades have had 38 players selected in the Major League Baseball draft including major leaguers Colby Lewis, Philip Dumatrait. Jacob Woods, Sean Barker, and Justin Miller. The Renegades are a Kern County program with 99% of players in the past 23 seasons graduating from Kern County high schools.

Prior to Bakersfield College, Painton spent 3 seasons as the baseball coach at Porterville College and 10 years as an assistant baseball coach at Fresno State.  While coaching at Fresno State, the Bulldogs made 8 NCAA post season appearances including 2 trips to the College World Series. Painton played collegiately at Fullerton Junior College and Fresno State, and in 1998, was inducted into the Fresno State baseball Hall of Fame. He also played professionally in the Giants and Angels organizations.

Tim Painton and his wife Kim reside in Bakersfield and have two children. Tyler, who  played baseball at Oregon State and in the Oakland A’s organization, and daughter McKenna who played volleyball at the University of Arizona.
