Porterville held scoreless in non-conference loss to Bakersfield

PORTERVILLE – The Pirates' non-conference game against Bakersfield College on Tuesday got off to a tough start.

The Renegades greeted Porterville College starting pitcher Ally Boyd by scoring eight times in the top of the first inning and the Pirates went on to lose by a final score of 14-0.

PC's offense totaled four hits in the contest, getting a perfect 2 for 2 effort from Mo Mosely. Boyd (1 for 2) smacked a double and Annisa Gomez added a single.

Boyd took the loss, allowing 10 runs (7 earned) and 12 hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Porterville dropped to 2-11 overall and returns to action on Mar. 10 when it opens Central Valley Conference play at home against Taft College. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
