The numbers game continues to pay dividends for the GCC Baseball Team in 2022. An 8-1 victory at Bakersfield Tuesday March 15 improved its record to 15-5 overall and 4-0 in WSC South play, good for a one game lead in conference play. Those lofty numbers had the Vaqueros moving up to No. 3 in Southern California in their latest California Community College Baseball Coaches Association Poll.

More good performance numbers came from starting pitcher Aaron Suval, who got the win to improve to 3-0 and pitched seven strong innings allowing just five hits, struck out five and blanked the Renegades after allowing a first inning run. Brandon Nguyen helped supply the offensive firepower with a first inning solo homer, one of his two on the day, and four hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Joey Craig added two hits and three stolen bases as GCC pounded out 11 total hits against the Renegades and Alex Mills added two runs scored and an RBI double.

Glendale continues the series against Bakersfield with a home game against the Renegades Thursday March 17 at 2:30 pm at Stengel Field.
