Men's Soccer Routs Bakersfield, 6-2

Compton, Calif. - Five Tartar men's soccer players scored goals in the team's 6-2 rout of Bakersfield (0-5-3) on Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Brian Araux opened the scoring in the 4th minute on an assist from freshman David Ramon before sophomore Edgar Flores followed closely behind with an unassisted score.

Sophomores Adrian Veliz and Ivan Vasquez both counted goals to take a 4-1 lead into the half with Araux adding an assist. Overall, Vasquez led the team with nine total shots.

Sophomore Jose Albizar scored the last two goals for the Tartars in the 62nd and 76th minutes.

In the goal for his first start, freshman Jaime Serna tallied five saves, all coming in the second half.

Compton outshot Bakersfield 23-9, it and doubled the Renegades' corner kicks 10-5.

The Tartars (6-1-1) open league play at LA Harbor on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
