HOME OPENER FALLS SHORT

Despite a strong effort and a few crucial opportunities, the Hornets lost 2-1 at home Tuesday against Bakersfield College.

It was a scoreless first half where the Hornets missed scoring a couple of goals by mere inches.

The Renegades got on the board in the 55th minute on a fluke shot that was tapped over the goalkeeper's head as he came out to retrieve the ball.

In the 71st minute, Misael Gonzalez scored the Hornet's lone goal with the assist coming from Jazey Zavala.

Bakersfield put the ball in the back of the net in the 79th minute and held on for the 2-1 win over FC.

Up Next: The Hornets (0-1 overall) will do their best to pick it back up when they begin play at the Mt. SAC Invite. Game one will be against College of the Canyons on September 2nd at 5:00 pm.
