GCC Men's Basketball falls to Bakersfield College 44-43 Jan. 15

The frustration of the 2022-23 GCC Men's Basketball season hit a new level Saturday Jan. 14 as the Vaqs closed to within one point of host Bakersfield College late in the game but couldn't overcome that lead and a slow start to fall to the host Renegades 44-43. Glendale is now 6-12 overall and 0-4 in the WSC South.

A made free throw by leading scorer Gabino Ramirez with 1:11 left cut the Bakersfield lead to 44-41 and a basket by Jarred Jones with 39 seconds left made it 44-43, the game's final score. Ramirez led GCC with 18 points and Jones had 10 to pace Glendale. Elijah Groves had nine rebounds and three blocks and Emmanuel Lewis had three assists.
