Softball Drops Doubleheader to Bakersfield

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College dropped a pair of non-conference games to visiting Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

GAME ONE: Bakersfield 8, El Camino College 2

The Renegades scored seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back en route to a six-run victory. The Warriors got a pair of three-hit games from Alyssa Lujan and Leah Madden but the rest of the lineup combined to go 2-for-20 against pitcher Talia Nielsen.

GAME TWO: Bakersfield 5, El Camino College 2

The Warriors once again fell behind big early as the Renegades took a 5-0 lead through two-and-a-half innings. The Warriors did score one in the bottom of the third and then trimmed the deficit to three with another run in the sixth inning but could get no closer.

Kayla Inzunza went 2-for-3 to lead the ECC offense and scored one of the team's two runs. Lujan, Madden, Genise Chavez and pinch-hitter Jezaniah To'avalu all had hits for the Warriors in the loss.

The Warriors return to action on Tuesday with a road game against Long Beach with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
