Cuesta Kickers Fall To Renegades In Make-Up Game

Cuesta Women's Soccer hosted Bakersfield to make-up their Western State Conference Inter-Division match that was postponed on September 10.  The Renegades are currently in the WSC-South cellar, while the Cougars are in the second tier of a tightly packed WSC-North Division that boasts three Top 20 teams.  Cuesta dominated almost every facet of the contest, yet the Renegades slipped in the match's only goal with just under 15-minutes to play for the win, 1-0.  The Cougars outshot Bakersfield, 24-8, had more corners, 2-0, less fouls, 2-4, and each team was off-sides once.  Coach Bob Wilson said, "We just couldn't get one in."  The Renegades scored their lone goal as the Cougars pursued a "through-ball" to Mikayla Polanco, who kicked back against the grain to an open net.  The loss drops the Cougars to 2-9-1 overall, while the Renegades improve to 2-8-1.

Cuesta returns to WSC-North Division play this Friday (4 PM) at Oxnard.
