MISSION BATS CHIP AWAY AT BC AS RENEGADE BATS STAY QUIET

The Bakersfield College Baseball team (14-23, 9-8) hasn't provided Luke Andrews with much run support all season, and Thursday was no different as Mission got to their ace in three different innings without reply in an 8-0 shutout loss.

Anthony Donatella (W 5-3) picked up the complete game victory by holding BC to just six hits, while walking none and striking out seven.

Brant Combs accounted for half of BC's hit total, and his double was the only extra base hit for the Renegades.

"Brant has been very good since being inserted into the line-up," Coach Tim Painton said.

Despite the Skipper's positive observation about Combs, he had to be seething over BC's recent streak of moribund at-bats, especially after a game started by a player who has given the team a chance to win in almost every previous start this season.
