Baseball Stumbles Against COS, 4-2

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Baseball team hosted College of the Sequoias at Gerry Collis Field on Tuesday afternoon and came away with their seventh loss of the season at the hands of the Giants, 4-2.

Sequoias got the first run on the board in the top of the first that was answered back by the Renegades with two runs in the bottom of the second. COS responded back with two runs in the top of the third to take the lead right back.

While the Renegades collected eight hits on the day, they were unable to bring any more runs across after the two in the second. COS added an insurance run in the eighth and took home the victory.

Roman Rubio had the start and the loss on the mound for BC. He pitched five innings with three strikeouts, giving up nine hits. Carson Timmons came in to relieve the next 2 2/3 innings and Carlos Lopez pitched the final 1 1/3 innings.

Baseball now drops to 3-7 overall on the season and next head on the road to play a 3-game series against Golden West starting Thursday (2/13) through Saturday (2/15).
