Baseball Splits Doubleheader Against Antelope Valley

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade Baseball spilt a doubleheader against Antelope Valley in their first Western State Conference (WSC) competitions of the Spring II season, winning the first game 5-0 and dropping the second 9-8.

In the first game, the Renegades brought three runs across in the first two innings and never looked back with two more scored in the fourth. Jacob Baker collected a pair of RBI's and a double. Mark Ribeiro added a double and an RBI as well. Eduardo Barraza (2-0) got the start and the win on the mound for BC while collecting four strikeouts.

In game two, Antelope Valley took an early lead before BC fought back to tie the game in the third and take a one-run lead in the bottom of the fourth. Antelope Valley then rode a four-run sixth inning to gain the lead and momentum back. Despite coming within one run in the ninth with two outs, the Renegades were unable to pull out a second win on the day. Leading the team was Xabi Iparraguirre with three RBI's and Jose Ruiz with two RBI's. Jarret Brannen (0-1) got the start for BC, collecting four strikeouts.

With the split, the Renegades will now play at Antelope Valley this coming Saturday (5/1) for another doubleheader. First pitch will be at 12:00pm.
