Baseball Drops Moorpark Twice

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade Baseball hosted Moorpark for a doubleheader at Gerry Collis Field on Thursday afternoon and came away with two victories, 7-2 and 11-7.

The Renegades took control of game one very quickly, bringing five runs across the plate by the end of the second. At that point the damage was done for the Raiders who were unable to score more than two runs the rest of the game. Eduardo Barraza (3-0) got the start for BC going six innings with four strikeouts. At the plate Jarrett Brannen had two RBI's and double to lead the team.

In game two, the Renegades didn't slow up offensively using a three-run third inning and a three-run fourth inning to put the game out of reach. The Raiders scored four runs in the top of the ninth, but it was far from enough to mount a comeback. Kyle Langston (1-0) got his first start on the hill for BC going five innings with two strikeouts. Matt Patton provided four RBI's and both Jose Ruiz and Mark Ribeiro added two RBI's each.

With the two victories, the Renegades now improve to 8-3 overall. They will now travel to play at Moorpark on Saturday (5/8) in a doubleheader with game times at 12:00pm and 3:00pm.
