Bakersfield Loses Series against Glendale

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College baseball team played their last game of a three game series against Glendale College on Saturday afternoon in strong winds and rain. Unfortunately, for the Renegades the weather was not on their side and they dropped the series, 3-14.

Glendale got on the board early in the game with two runs in the top of the first and another in the top of the second before Bakersfield scored. Catcher Xabi Iparraguirre grounded out to short stop to bring home Joseph Alatorre home, unearned while Jarrett Brannen singled to left field for Andrew Townson to score and only trail by one run at the end of the three innings (2-3).

BC added one more run before the game ended, Townson scored off of Brannen singled to left field. Unfortunately, for the Renegades that would be the only runs they had in the game while the Vaqueros added ten more.

Kyle Langston got the start on the mound for the Renegades with six innings and five strikeouts. Dylan Pavletich pitched .1 innings while Tim Ruiz pitched 1.2 innings, and Brock Barron ended the game.

The Renegades drop to 5-18 at the beggining of the Western State Conference. BC will travel to LA Valley on Tuesday (3/22) and return back on Thursday (3/24) for game two of the series at 2:30PM.
