BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College baseball team hosted the Antelope Valley College Marauders against on Thursday afternoon and came away with a 12-6 loss.

Antelope Valley got on the board early not wasting anytime in the game with four runs in the top of the first and another seven runs at the top of the third before Bakersfield scored. Outfielder Grant Holleman tripled to left center for Andrew Townson to score BC's first run in the contest. Bakersfield scored five more runs before Antelope Valley added one more at the top of the 8th.

At the bottom of five, Jose Ruiz singled to left field to send Jordan Lopez home while catcher Xabi Iparraguirre reached fielders choice on bases loaded giving the Renegades another run from Jacob Baker. In the bottom of the seventh, Ruiz had two RBI's with a double to left center bringing in teammates Joseph Alatorre and Lopez (11-5). The final point for BC came from Iparraguirre who grounded out to second to bring in Ruiz.

Unfortunately, the Marauders lead was too large for the Renegades to come back.

Jarrett Brannen got the start on the mound for the Renegades with seven innings and five strikeouts. Gabe Cruz ended the game pitching 1.2 innings.

The Renegades drop to 7-21. BC will travel back to Antelope Valley on Saturday (4/02) and return back on Tuesday (4/05) to start their series against Citrus at 2:30PM.
