MEN'S BASKETBALL WINS TWO OF THREE

The Bakersfield College men's basketball team won two of three games, this past weekend, at the Hemet Valley Kiwanis Hoops and Crops Tournament, hosted by Mt. San Jacinto.

On Thursday the Renegades lost to Riverside 79-72.  Riverside held Bakersfield to 31.7% shooting overall and 28.6% from behind the three point line.  Tucker Eenigenburg led the Renagades with 21 points, while Johnathan Murray added 13 and Jamar Hammonds chipped in 10.  Reid Bowman led the Renegades in rebounds, with 8.

Friday, Bakersfield College defeated San Diego Mesa 94-81, to avenge an earlier loss.  Four Renegades scored in double figures.  Tucker Eenigenburg led the way with 27 points.  Jamar Hammonds had 20 points and Jaylunn English scored 21.  Henry Galinato added 12 points and a team high 13 rebounds.

The Renegades finished the weekend by beating Santiago Canyon 99-91. All five starters scored in double figures for the Renegades, as they shot nearly 55% from the floor.  Jamar Hammonds led the way with 27 points and 9 assists.  Henry Galinato had his second consecutive double-double, adding 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Tucker Eenigenburg had 16 points, Johnathan Murray had 12 and Jaylunn English added 18.

The men's basketball team returns to the court this Thursday, at the Santa Barbara Tournament.  They will play Oxnard at 2 PM.  The will also play on Friday and Saturday, with the opponents and times to be determined.
