Renegades Stomps to Victory over the Vaqueros

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College men's basketball team hosted the Glendale College Vaqueros. The Renegades came out of top, 54-44. 

Bakersfield came out of the gates pushing forward by getting on the board first and going on a 11-2 run. Glendale scored their first field goal in the first two minutes and did not make another one until about 10 minutes later. From there BC increased their lead throughout the first half. Renegades had their largest lead by 17 points with three minutes left in the half. Bakersfield went to the locker with a comfortable lead, 32-18.

Sophomore Tyrell Coleman led the Renegades in the first half with 15-points and 6 rebounds. The team did well with second chances going 10-4.

Into the second half and the score remained the same in the first two minutes. BC struggled offensively in the first 15 minutes by only scoring about 15 points. Fortunately, the Renegades had gain such a large lead in the first half, the 26-points that the Vaqueros gained in the last half could not touch BC's lead for the duration of the game.

Coleman had a season high of 22-points while teammate Deandre Pemberton came up with 11-points and 8 rebounds. Bakersfield had their largest lead with 19-points in the second at 14:50.

With the win, the Renegades move to 12-8 overall and 4-4 in conference play on the season. Bakersfield will host a rescheduled game with Antelope Valley on Monday (2/7) at 5PM and return home for Sophomore Night on Saturday against West LA at 3PM.
