Two Straight Victories for Men's Soccer

Bakersfield, CA – Bakersfield College men's soccer team won it's second game of the season on a sunny Tuesday afternoon at the BC soccer fields. Behind a clean sheet and a stellar offensive performance from the Renegades, BC shut out the Huskies, 4-0 and improved 2-2-2 on the season.

Renegades opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the contest when Daniel Nino played a ball to freshman Kevin Ramos, who scored his first goal of the season and put BC up early. East Los Angeles tried to equalize and even had the advantage in possessions for the next several minutes, but a crowded defense made any shots difficult.

Into the 25th minute in the first half, BC was given a free kick from ELA keeping possession of the ball in their legs. The Huskies lined on the end line to protect another goal, but Guerrero Marco found a way and slipped it right behind them to give the Renegades the lead at the half.

The second half, East Los Angeles pushed forward but the Gades would find their way once more around the 70th minute. Nino hooked the ball from the right to make a lone goal and put BC up 3-0. The contest grew hotter as the time went on, a red and a yellow were given to ELA and a yellow for BC before the Renegades scored again on a penalty kick. Freshman Edwin Ramon scored his first goal of his collegiate career and BC ends the game, 4-0.

Up next, another home match to end the week playing Santa Barbara City College this Friday (9/17) at 4:00pm at the Bakersfield College Soccer Fields.
