Men's Soccer Grabs their Fourth Shutout at Home

Bakersfield, CA –Bakersfield College men's soccer team grabbed their fourth shutout in the season to nab a haul (4-0) victory over the visiting Citrus College Owls on a cloudy, Friday late afternoon. Four different Renegades scored goals.

Bakersfield grabbed an early 1-0 lead at the 13th minute when forward Andrew Gonzalez netted a perfect shot from Angel Sandoval to cross the right of the goal, after BC had attempted at least three shots minutes before they would find the back of the net. Not even five minutes later the Renegades were able to hold the Owls defensively and push forward to pickup another goal that nearly caught Citrus off guard. Freshman Ricky Nino scored his second goal of the season and celebrated with the team. BC managed to keep majority of possession for the rest of the first half and found themselves at the goal several times before teammate Nino would help center midfielder Anthony Miron scored his sixth goal of the season at the 30th minute. The Gades went into halftime with much confidence.

Into the second half of the contest the Renegades and the Owls struggled offensively at the start. It would be the 61st to be the final goal of the evening from both sides as BC's forward Kevin Ramos earned his second goal of the season assisted by Nino again from the left corner.

With another home victory, the Renegades now move to an overall record of 6-4-4 and 2-0-1 in conference. Up next, they will travel to Antelope Valley College on Tuesday, October 26th at 6:00 pm and live stats will be available.
