Bakersfield Takes the Golden out of the Eagles at Home, 5-2

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield College men's soccer team hosted West Hills Lemoore Golden Eagles on a Friday afternoon. An offensive first half would determine the conclusion of the game and end in a 5-2 win for the Renegades.

Within the first few minutes of the game Bakersfield scored the games first goal of many. Defender Jalen Prioleau scored off of a shot assisted from freshman Jesus Olloqui from the left side of the box. Not too long after that another goal was score from midfielder Anthony Miron in the 15th minute. BC kept the game an offensive battle, taking about four more shots on goal before West Hills goalie was subsituted out. However, the Golden Eagles tatic did not scare the Gades and Miron got his second goal of the day from about 15 feet deep into the left corner at the 30th minute. Two more goals were made by BC the first from forward Colin Uzih at the 41st minute and the last by forward Andrew Carrasco at the 44th.

Bakersfield's second half strategy was playing smarter defensively. Up until 20 minutes into the last half, BC kept the Golden Eagles from scoring but a slight shift gave West Hills a goal at the 22nd and against in the final 10 minutes of the game. Fortunately, the five points scored early would keep the Renegades falling to West Hills Lemoore at home.

With the win, the Renegades move to 3-2-2 on the season. Up next, they travel to Santa Barbara for 7:00pm match-up on Tuesday (9/20).
