Dalton Named WSC Coach of the Year and Welcomes Top County Player

BAKERSFIELD,CA - Bakersfield College men's tennis head coach, Noel Dalton, was name this year's Western State Conference Coach of the Year. 

Dalton successfully hosted the first annual Pfister Cup tournament in Bakersfield, names after Hank Pfister himself who is a lifelong Bakersfield resident and tennis icon. The tournament featured top junior college men's tennis teams from Northern California and Southern California which played the weekend of March 19 – 20. Participating teams were American River, Chabot, Foothill, Glendale, Ventura, and BC. Matches were played at Bakersfield's four private clubs – Bakersfield Country Club, Bakersfield Racquet Club, Seven Oaks Country Club, and Stockdale Country Club.The tournament included the top teams from Northern California and Southern California. Bakersfield College was a part of the south team and won to keep the cup until the tournament is played again next year. 

 

This academic season, Noel is adding to his team. Incoming freshman Brett Yackovich, from Centennial High School has been a top tennis player in the Valley. His record can be viewed below. Yackovich will be studying business at Bakersfield College.
