BC let one slip through their fingers against Allan Hancock on the road Tuesday.
BC let one slip through their fingers against Allan Hancock on the road Tuesday.

Bakersfield College Softball used all 12 innings to display their talents and picked up a 9-5 win over Cuesta College on the way.

Cuesta jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of second inning on a pair of errors by the Renegades.

But in the top of the third,  Alexis Rodriguez reached on a base hit, and Alexis Solis drew a walk to set the table for Alyssa Gonzales, and she answered with a two run double, and scored shortly thereafter when McKenna Valencia homered to give BC a 4-3 lead.

BC gave up the tying run in the fifth, and the game was scoreless for the next six and a half innings until the Renegades batted around to score five runs. Kathryn Alderete and Solis delivered back to back doubles to give BC a 6-4 lead, and then the floodgates opened in earnest. A walk and an error juiced the bases for catcher Naizemarie Ubay, and she delivered the third BC double of the frame and the final runs of the 9-5 win.

While the offense was electric in spurts, Valencia was a workhorse. The freshman righty scattered nine hits over 12 innings, while striking out seven.

The Renegades return to action Sunday as they travel to Reedley for a 11am game vs Reedley and a 1pm game vs Delta College out of Stockton.
