Softball Moves to 4-0 in Conference Play

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College softball team hosted Allan Hancock on Tuesday afternoon at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex and nabbed their fourth conference victory of the season, beating the Bulldogs, 6-1.

Ashley Hernandez scored the game's first run after a Savannah Gonzales sacrifice fly. A few batters later Alexis Lopez scored after an RBI double to right field. Saidee Banuelos then popped out to score Fahy which put BC up 3-0.

Hancock managed to score a run in the top of the fifth, which BC's Natilee Parrish answered back with a solo homerun in the bottom of the inning to put the Renegades back up by three. The Renegades added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth; one on a Lopez triple to score Hernandez and the other was a walked in bases loaded run scored by Lopez.  

Fahy started the game at pitcher for BC and went all seven innings gathering ten strikeouts while allowing four hits and the lone run from the Bulldogs.

With today's results, BC improves 10-9 overall and 4-0 in conference. They now sit atop the WSC North as the  lone undefeated team.

The Renegades will next host LA Pierce on Thursday (3/12) with first pitch at 2:30pm.
