Softball Dominates Ventura in Six, 8-0

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College softball team hosted Ventura College on Tuesday afternoon at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex and maintained their spot leading the conference with a dominating 8-0 victory over the Pirates.

The Renegades struck first in the bottom of the first inning bringing in three runs. The first was an RBI single by Natilee Parrish that brought home Atlantis Rede. Avianna Campos then brought home Kylee Fahy and Parrish on a two-run RBI double to left field.

Rede brought home Alexis Lopez on an RBI single in the second and in the bottom of the fourth Savannah Gonzalez and Rede had consecutive RBI's to increase the lead to 6-0.

In the bottom of the sixth Parrish brought Rede in on an RBI triple to left field. The game then ended due to the run rule when Campos came to the plate next and hit an RBI single to score Parrish.

Fahy started the game at pitcher for BC and went all seven innings with eight strikeouts and only two hits allowed.

With today's results, BC improves to 18-14 overall and 11-0 in conference.

The Renegades will travel to play Santa Monica this Thursday (4/4) at 2:30pm.
