Softball Grabs Walk-Off Victory to Finish Perfect in Conference Play

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College softball team hosted Moorpark on Tuesday afternoon at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex in their final regular season game of the 2019 season and grabbed a walk-off win in the seventh to finish the season perfect in conference play.

Moorpark got on the board first in the top of the second with a sacrifice fly to take the early lead. They added two more in the top of the third to go up, 3-0.

Natilee Parrish got the Renegades on the board in the bottom of the fourth, leading off with a solo home run on the first pitch she saw. They were able to add another run off an Aviana Campos ground out that brought Kylee Fahy home to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Renegades came into the bottom of the seventh without having had the lead in the game and were able to get the walk-off win off an Ashley Hernandez grounder up the middle that was mis-handled by Moorpark and scored Saidee Banuelos and Lysette Castro.

Fahy started the game at pitcher for BC and went all seven innings with nine strikeouts, six hits and three runs allowed.

BC finishes the regular season with an overall record of 24-16 and a perfect record of 16-0 in conference.

The Renegades will now wait to hear who they will face in the first round of the CCCAA State Playoffs.
