Softball Falls To Mt. SAC And San Mateo On Opening Day

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Softball team opened up the 2020 season dropping both ends of a doubleheader due to mercy rule at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex.

In the first game they fell behind early in the game giving up one run in the first and seven in the second. They would go on to give up another seven runs over the next two innings. Overall they gave up 15 runs to Mt. SAC. The lone Renegade run came in the bottom of the fifth after a Natilee Parrish fly ball to right field that brought Arianna Gutierrez home.  

Trinity Ybarra took the loss for BC. She allowed 11 hits and ten runs over two innings, walking one.

In game two against San Mateo, they fell behind early again and were not able to overcome the Bulldog offense. The Renegades gave up a total of 11 hits in the game. Sydney Barnes took the loss in the circle for BC. She surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

They return back to action tomorrow in the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex hosting Santiago Canyon at 2pm.
