Softball Takes WSC-South Conference Title with win over AVC

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade softball team hosted the Antelope Valley College Marauders and came away with not only a 2-1 win with but a conference title on their second to last conference game of the season.  

Bakersfield managed to take the game at the bottom of the sixth inning with a Kady Smith single on a line drive to bring home teammate Kylie Havens. The game was tied throughout the ball game after the second inning. The Marauders scored at the top of the second with a triple while Marissa Campos scored from Destiny Cuellar's single at the bottom of the inning. 

Talia Nielson was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero. 

As a team, BC collected four hits with five errors. 

They now move to 30-6 on the season and undefeated in conference games. The Renegades will head for the road to take Citrus Valley, their last conference opponents on Thursday, April 21st  and return home for a double header on Saturday, April 23rd at 11am and 3pm.
