Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Women's Basketball team hosted LA Valley College at the Gil Bishop Sports Center in conference play on Wednesday night and came away with huge buzzer beating win, 43-40.
The contest was a low-scoring defensive game in the first half with many turnovers committed by both sides. By the break, the Monarchs held the lead, 22-13.
The first points of the second half didn't come until three minutes into the half. The Renegades kept pace with the Monarchs to find themselves down by only five, 28-23 at the end of the third quarter.
The Renegades refused to back down and found themselves in a tie ball game with 2 seconds left. The inbounds pass went to Alyssa Gonzalez who threw up a high arcing shot from in front of the Renegade bench and found the bottom of the net just after the buzzer sounded to secure the victory.
Leading the Renegades was Felicia Chacon with nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Dasia Wandick chipped in with seven points and Julie Hernandez with six.

With the win, the Renegades improve to 11-16 overall and 5-8 in conference. Their final game of the season is this Friday (2/21) at 5pm against Canyons for Sophomore Night.
