Bakersfield Falls to Cypress at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College Women's basketball team hosted the Cypress College Chargers on Friday evening in the Gil Bishop Sports Center. The Renegades struggled with the amount of bench players compared to the Chargers extra nine players to sub in and fell tired to CC, 88-48.

At the start of the game both teams struggled to find the net with 8 shots taken before the first two points were on the board, which came from Cypress. The Chargers took posession of the game with the Renegades trailing by 13 points in the first quarter. BC managed to close the gap in the second quarter only falling by six points with 7:26 left in the half but unfortunately that would be as close as Bakersfield got to Cypress's lead.

The Renegades had the largest field goals in the fourth quarter scoring a total of 18 points, however the Chargers had already built a significant lead that BC was unable to catch.

Leading the team was sophomore Laura Arciga with 13 points and six rebounds.

With the loss, Bakersfield is now 2-5 on the season. The women will host again on Tuesday, November 22nd against Cuesta College for a 6:00pm tip off.
