Duo of Wrestlers Moving On

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade wrestlers Romiro Macias and Zavion Roberson have both signed to continue their academic and wrestling careers for the University of Jamestown Jimmies in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Both Macias and Roberson, who competed as sophomores for head coach Brett Clark this last season, will join brothers Esteban Corona and Pedro Corona from last years Renegade wrestling squad who are already at the University of Jamestown.

"This is huge for us as a program, for these two guys," Coach Clark commented "Romero, who is from Delano, and moving so far away to North Dakota and Zavion is a kid who struggled a little bit in school, but he's put the work in and it's got him a scholarhsip. This will be a culture shock for them going back there, but we have two assistant coaches who wrestled back there and they were able to pick their brains about the area. It'll be a good thing for them."

The University of Jamestown competes as an NAIA level school in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

There have now been a total of 38 Renegade student-athletes from the 2017-18 year that will be playing at various four-year school throughout the country this coming season.
