Wrestling takes 2nd place at Sacramento City College Tournament

Sacramento, CA - The Bakersfield College wrestling team took home 2nd place as a team at the Sacramento city college wrestling tournament this weekend.

They were led by 125 pound Marcus Hutcherson and 197 pound Adrian Godinez who took 2nd place in their weight divisions. Marcus lost to returning All American Greg Viloria from Chabot in the finals. Adrian Godinez lost in a battle of returning state champions in the finals, losing to 174 pound State champion Anthony Cress from Chabot in a hard fought 4-2 loss. Jeremy Maas was 3rd at 184 pounds.

Other placers were Pedro Ramirez at 125 pounds, Jared Callison at 133 pounds was 5th as was Alexis Bercerra at 141. Also finishing 5th was Emmett Kuntzs and Chris Villa at 149 pounds and rounding out the placers was Heavyweight Jacob Hall who also took 5th.

Head Coach Brett Clark commented, "In all it was a good showing for us. It's a step in the process for our team moving toward the state championships at the end of the year"

The Renegades will next travel to Coalinga, CA to face off against the West Hills Falcons on Saturday, Sept. 22nd at 9am.
