Wrestling Takes 5th at the CCCAA State Dual

San Marcos, CA - The Bakersfield College wrestling team competed in the CCCAA State Dual Southern Regional this weekend hosted by Palomar College. They went 1-2 taking fifth place as a team.

Wrestlers that went undefeated at the tournament were 149 pounder Emmet Kuntz 3-0, 184 pounder Jeremy Maas 3-0, 197 pounder Adrian Godinez 3-0 and Jacob Hall at Heavyweight.

The team opened up with a victory over West Hills College Lemoore 35-15. Then it was on to the semifinals where there they lost to eventual champions Cerritos college 28-19. The next round was cons semis where the Renegades met Rio Hondo College in a tough battle and came up short 27-23.

Coach Clark commented, "It was a tough weekend but we had some good individuals that did really well and we are building toward the end of the year. We need to just keep working."

The Renegades will next compete at the Meat Head Movers Tournament hosted by Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo on Saturday, October 20th.
