Women's Soccer Wins Big at Home Against Allan Hancock

Bakersfield, CA –The Renegade women's soccer team hosted Allan Hancock on Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium and came away with a strong 8-0 victory.

The Renegades didn't wait to score when in the 3rd minute Rhyan Acosta scored a solo goal to open the scoring at 1-0. In the 10th minute Michelle Vargas scored a header off a Yesena Sorto corner kick to go up 2-0. In the 28th minute Rhyan Acosta scored her second goal of the day after an assist by Jackie Zavala. Before the half in the 38th minute the Renegades went up 4-0 after another corner by Yesena Sorto was headed in by Drew Hallum.

In the 68th minute Mackenna Ramirez put the ball past Hancock defenders to go up 5-0. Yesena Sorto scored a goal of her own in the second half as well. With 9 minutes left Hannah Holty put another goal in. Before the game was through Jackie Zavalla was also able to net the final goal of the day in the 86th minute to bring the final tally to 8-0.

"It was good to get some goals tonight", said Head Coach Scott Dameron "The thing we talked about before the game was just a consistent 90-minute effort and I think we got a lot closer to that."

With the win the Renegades move to 6-2 on the season. They will head on the road to Ventura College for their next game on Friday, September 28th at 5:00pm.
