Volleyball extended their win streak to 9 games on Tuesday with a sweep over West LA.

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College women's volleyball team took on West LA College Tuesday night in the Gil Bishop Sports Center and came away with another 3-0 sweep to improve to 15-1 on the season and extend their 9 game winning streak. BC has also swept 12 out of their 16 matches this season.

The Renegades took control of the first set early and never looked back winning 25-8. Set 2 and 3 were much of the same as BC came out on top 25-13 and 25-12 respectively.

Leading the way for BC was Lanie Camarillo with 11 kills and Penelope Zepeda 10. Jessica Merante added 13 digs on the evening and Zepeda added 10.

"We've been working a lot on our connections, especially with the middles, as that is something that'll help us in the long-run," said Sarah Armendariz, "Showing it tonight I think worked out really well and keeping the speed of the game in our control."

Coach Carl Ferreria commented, "We didn't drop in our level of intensity, which is a sign of our maturity. You go from playing El Camino, the 5th ranked team in the state, and we maintained that same type of focus and that tells me our team is assuming some ownership of how we go about our day to day preparation to compete."

Next up, the Renegades head to the road to face Antelope Valley College on Friday, Oct. 12th at 6pm.
