Volleyball Sweeps Antelope Valley for 14th Win of the Season

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Volleyball team hosted Antelope Valley on Wednesday evening at home in the Gil Bishop Sports Center and grabbed their 14th victory of the season with a 3-0 sweep over the Marauders.

Both teams opened the first set going point for point until midway through the set when BC won what seemed like a five-minute rally. From that point the Renegades went on a 16-0 streak to win the first set 25-9.

The second set started off back and forth again, before BC came alive after three straight kills by Penelope Zepeda midway through. From that point BC came alive and took the set, 25-15.

The Renegades captured their eleventh sweep on the year after taking the third and final set, 25-13.

Leading the Renegades tonight was Emily Clark with 7 kills and 0 errors and Alyson Dees with 6 kills and zero errors. Sophia Palm was a perfect 5/5 in dump attempts and Jessica Merante provided 19 digs.

With the win, the Renegades move to 14-2 on the season. Up next, they head to College of the Canyons this Friday 10/18 at 6pm. The game will be played at the Master's University gym in Santa Clarita.
