Volleyball Notches Win in First Game Back

Bakersfield, CA - The four-time Western State Conference Champion Renegade Volleyball team were quickly back in their winning ways to start the abbreviated 2021 Spring I season knocking off visiting College of the Sequoias, 3-1 (25-13, 25-14, 19-25, 25-23).

After not facing an opponent for well over a year, and not even having the opportunity to scrimmage as a team until recently, the Renegades showed no rust blowing over the Giants in the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-14. COS took a stand in the third set and overcame a strong BC attack to cut the lead to 2-1. The Renegades came back strong in the fourth set, but the Giants would not go away easily down stretch making BC work for the 25-23 set win and match victory.

Sophomores Emily Clark and Alyson Dees led the team in the win. Clark collected 14 kills and 4 digs while Dees put down 11 kills and 11 digs.

Tomorrow (Saturday 3/6) the Renegades will travel to play at COS at 3pm. To watch the game click this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP82q8avrrE
