Bakersfield Defeats Antelope Valley in Three at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College Volleyball team was out and ready to play their next conference opponent, the Antelope Valley College Maurders tonight. The Renegades defeated AVC in three sets. 

Freshman Monet Panther started the Renegades with three aces to help dominate the first set, 25-13. 

Into the second the Maurders made Bakersfield work for their next set win. With 9th point on each side, BC and AVC tied three times. Bakersfield only led by three points at 17-14 and then took the set over from there and won, 25-17. 

The final set Bakersfield jumped out and took and quick 9-1 lead before Antelope Valley called for a timeout. The Renegades only allowed the Maurders to score 11 more points ending the set, 25-12. 

Sophomore Tia Jules  lead the team with 9 kills while freshman Kya Jones finished the night with 16 digs.

With the win, the Renegades are now 2-2 in conference and 6-7 overall on the season. Bakersfield will play on the road at Citrus College to take on the Owls on Wednesday, October 12.
