BC Sweeps the Corsairs at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College Volleyball team captured another conference win at home against the visiting Santa Monica Corsairs on Friday evening. Renegades pulled out another conference the win a sweep.

BC jumped out the gates and took a hold of the first set early. The Corsairs attempted to strike back at the Renegades large lead, but BC was too far ahead for SM to come back. The first set ended, 25-16.  

Into the second set, and Santa Monica was not backing down. The game went point for point and finished as close as three points, 25-22.

For the final set of the game the Corsairs took an early lead, but BC was able to match them point for point once again. At the 13 all, Bakersfield took a hold of the lead and went on a 5-2 run to force SM to take a timeout. Leading by seven points Santa Monica inched away at the Gades lead but BC ended the third set, 25-18.

Leading the Renegades tonight were freshman Alexandria Johnson with 15 kills and 11 digs while teammate Kya Jones ended the night with 15 digs. 

With another home win on the season, the Renegades move to 9-7 overall and 5-2 in conference. BC will play at home again on Wednesday on October 26th against College of the Canyons.
