Bakersfield Sweeps the Series with Glendale

BAKERSFIELD, CA - In a matchup between the visiting Glendale College Vaqueros and the Bakersfield College baseball team on April 6th, 2024, the Renegades emerged victorious with a commanding 9-0 win over Glendale.

Bakersfield's offense wasted no time in putting runs on the board, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding another in the second. They maintained their offensive pressure throughout the game, scoring a total of nine runs on eight hits.

Luis Fuentes and Trevor Spainhoward were key contributors for BC, each driving in runs to help secure the win. Additionally, strong performances from Adan Rivera, Jordan Mora, and Josh Gaeta contributed to Bakersfield's offensive onslaught.

On the defensive side, Bakersfield's pitching duo of John Alderete and Ryan Morales held Glendale's offense in check, allowing only three hits while striking out a combined total of eleven batters. Alderete earned the win with six scoreless innings, while Morales closed out the game with three solid innings of relief to secure the shutout victory.

Glendale struggled to generate offense against Bakersfield's pitching, with their lineup only managing three hits and failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Defensively, Glendale faced challenges, committing four errors throughout the game, which added to their struggles.

With this win, the Renegades improved their season record to 10-19 overall and 7-5 in conference.
