BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College beach volleyball team made program history on March 6, hosting its first home beach volleyball matches since the program began in 2016. The Renegades previously competed at courts hosted by Cal State Bakersfield but officially welcomed opponents to Bakersfield for the first time with a tri-match featuring Cuesta and Glendale.
BC made the historic day even more memorable by earning two wins, defeating Cuesta 3–2 and Glendale 4–1.
In the matchup against Cuesta, the Renegades secured three courts to claim the narrow victory. The pair of Maya Barron and Chloe Lopez opened strong with a 21-11, 21-14 win, while Amber Dela Cruz and Anahi King followed with a 22-20, 21-17 victory. The decisive point came from Mariah Sierra and Ruby Hawkins, who earned a 21-18, 21-15 win to seal the team result.
Bakersfield carried that momentum into the final match of the day against Glendale, winning four of the five courts to secure a 4–1 team victory. Barron and Lopez dominated their court with a 21-9, 21-8 win, while Dela Cruz and King continued their strong play with a 21-10, 21-12 victory. The duo of Keira Wolf and Amanda Zepeda also contributed with a decisive 21-12, 21-2 win.
The historic home event marked an important milestone for the Renegades beach volleyball program, celebrating both the program's growth and a successful day of competition in front of the home crowd.
