Renegades Split at Home Sand in Quad-Match Showdown

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield College beach volleyball hosted a four-team event on March 20, battling through a very warm day on the sand and coming away with a strong team victory while gaining valuable experience against tough competition.

The Renegades highlighted the day with a 4-1 team win over Cuesta, showcasing depth across the lineup. The No. 1 pair of Maya Barron and Chloe Lopez set the tone with a straight-set victory (21-15, 21-17), while the No. 2 duo of Anahi King and Amber De La Cruz followed with a decisive 21-15, 21-11 win.

Bakersfield continued to dominate in the middle courts, as Amanda Zepeda and Keira Wolf earned a 21-12, 21-15 victory at the No. 3 spot. The No. 4 pair of Mariah Sierra and Ruby Hawkins battled through three sets (21-15, 17-21, 15-9) to secure another point, and the No. 5 duo of Lainey Sterling and Anabel Naranjo capped the team win with a hard-fought three-set victory (23-21, 20-22, 15-13).

In their other matchup, the Renegades faced a strong Moorpark squad and fell 5-0. Despite the final score, Bakersfield competed in several tight contests, including a three-set battle at the No. 4 position and a closely contested match at No. 2.

The event featured multiple competitive matchups throughout the day, with Moorpark and Ventura also squaring off in a tightly contested dual.

Bakersfield will travel to Moorpark on Friday, March 27th.
