Renegades Split Matches in Ventura with Sweep of Glendale

MOORPARK, CA - The Bakersfield College beach volleyball team split a pair of matches in Moorpark, falling to SBCC before bouncing back in dominant fashion with a sweep over Glendale.

In the opening match against SBCC, the Renegades were unable to gain momentum, dropping a 5-0 decision. The No. 1 pair of Maya Barron and Chloe Lopez competed tough but fell in straight sets, 21-10, 21-11. The No. 2 duo of Amada Zepeda and Keira Wolf also battled but came up short, 21-11, 21-10. Bakersfield continued to fight across all flights, with Anahi King and Amber Delacruz (No. 3), Ruby Hawkins and Mariah Sierra (No. 4), and Lainey Sterling and Anabel Naranjo (No. 5) all showing effort despite the setback.

The Renegades quickly turned things around in match two, delivering a strong 5-0 sweep over Glendale. Barron and Lopez led the charge at the No. 1 spot with a decisive 21-7, 21-10 victory. Zepeda and Wolf followed with a straight-set win at No. 2 (21-12, 21-19), while King and Delacruz dominated at No. 3 with a 21-8, 21-13 win. Bakersfield completed the sweep with wins at No. 4 from Hawkins and Sierra and at No. 5 from Sterling and Naranjo.
