Monty Stevens improved to 2-0 on the season by scattering eight hits and two runs over six and a third innings while striking out eight to lead Bakersfield College (5-1) to a 5-2 win over Allan Hancock (3-1) Tuesday in Santa Maria.
"Monty Stevens set the tone for the whole day with his performance," Coach Tim Painton said, "He did such a good job at the top of the game, and then we were able to scratch a few runs across, and Cyrus Parsons came in and sealed the thing off, so that's a great team win."
The Renegades scored five runs with help from across the lineup.
Brooks Douglass, Harley Lopez, and Brock Hallum each had an RBI, and the 'Gades also scored two runs on an error in the sixth inning.
The Renegades host Fullerton on Friday, February 12th at 6pm at Gerry Collis Field.
