BC bats racked up four runs, but Hudson Hartley worked himself out of a bases loaded jam late to give the 'Gades a key conference win down the stretch.

Hudson Hartley (13-9, 4-3) pitched out of an eight inning bases loaded jam to pick up a 4-1 conference road win over Antelope Valley (6-16, 2-5) in Western State South action Tuesday evening.

"Hartley was pretty dominant, he gave up only five hits and no runs in eight innings while striking out eight," Coach Tim Painton said, "And it was windy and cold, two elements that are the enemy in baseball, especially when it comes to a pitcher's command."

Luke Andrews came on in the ninth to pick up the save, holding Antelope Valley to just one run and a hit.

Harrison Smith was the only Renegade to rack up multiple base hits with a two for four effort, and he made them count.

"He doubled in a run early in the game and hit a solo homer in the seventh, so Harry carried us in that regard," Painton said.

BC will host Antelope Valley at 3pm on Thursday, March 31st at Gerry Collis Field.
