BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College baseball team wrapped up a three-game series against Cerritos College at Gerry Collis Field, earning a series finale victory after dropping the first two contests.
In the series opener on Feb. 5, Cerritos used a balanced offensive attack to secure an 11–3 win. Landon McDonald led Bakersfield with a solo home run, and Santiago Blanco added an RBI double. Logan Judd took the loss on the mound.
Cerritos followed with a 20–1 victory on Feb. 6, capitalizing on a big seventh inning to pull away. The Falcons tallied 13 hits and drew 13 walks in the contest. Liam O'Reilly drove in Bakersfield's lone run, while Jason Smith recorded two hits. Owen Waytas earned the win for Cerritos.
The Renegades responded in the series finale on Feb. 7 with an 8–7 comeback victory. Bakersfield jumped out to an early lead and held off a late Cerritos push behind a 16-hit performance. Luke Camps powered the offense with a two-run home run and two RBIs, while Tryce Spainhoward went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Nick Martin added three hits, and Jordan Mora, Luke Shaw, and Jordan Brito each drove in runs.
On the mound, Jadyn Hernandez pitched seven strong innings before Salvatore Russo and Kaleb Pinedo closed out the game, with Pinedo earning the win.
With the victory in the finale, Bakersfield improved to 5–3 on the season and will host Poterville College on Tuesday, February 10th.
