McDonald Earns ABCA All-America Honors After Historic Freshman Season

BAKERSFIELD, CA. - Bakersfield College freshman outfielder Landon McDonald has added another prestigious honor to his remarkable debut season, earning selection to the 2026 ABCA/Rawlings Pacific Association Division All-Region Team and the 2026 ABCA Pacific Association Division All-America Team.

McDonald becomes one of the top junior college baseball players in the nation to receive All-America recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), an organization that has recognized the nation's best collegiate baseball players since 1949.

The ABCA All-America program spans nine divisions, including NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the Pacific Association Division, and high school baseball. To be considered for All-America honors, players must first earn First Team All-Region recognition.

The Pacific Association Division consists of student-athletes from the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) and the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), making the honor one of the most competitive awards in junior college baseball on the West Coast.

McDonald earned his place among the nation's elite after putting together a dominant offensive seasons at Bakersfield College. The freshman finished the regular season with a state-leading .492 batting average while also leading California with 15 home runs.

The ABCA/Rawlings Pacific Association Division All-Region teams are selected by the ABCA Pacific Association Division All-America Committee, which is chaired by California Community College Baseball Coaches Association President Chris Pedretti and includes representatives from both the 3C2A and NWAC.

McDonald's All-America selection caps off an outstanding freshman campaign and places him among the best junior college baseball players in the country.
