BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's soccer team grabbed an early lead but couldn't hold on late, settling for a 1-1 draw against the College of the Sequoias on Tuesday afternoon at the BC Soccer Field.
The Renegades struck first in the 23rd minute when Luis Gil found the back of the net with an unassisted goal to give BC the lead heading into halftime. With three saves, Bakersfield's keeper, Brian Ruvalcaba, held strong through much of the second half.
However, the Giants capitalized in the 85th minute to get the equalizer, forcing the Renegades to share the result.
With the tie, Bakersfield moves to 2-2-2 overall. Up next, the Renegades will take the road to match up with our Central Valley neighbors, Fresno City, on Friday.
