BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Renegades men's soccer team earned a key rivalry win Friday night, defeating Fresno 2–0 on the road.
Bakersfield struck first in the 22nd minute when freshman Andrew Nava found the back of the net off an assist from freshman Andrew Orozco, giving BC the early edge. In the second half, Orozco doubled the lead with an unassisted goal in the 71st minute to seal the match.
The Renegades' defense held firm throughout, keeping Fresno off the scoreboard and limiting chances.
With the victory, Bakersfield picks up an important Central Valley rivalry win and is now 3-2-2 on the season. They will return home on Tuesday, September 23rd, to take on Merced at 4:00 pm.
